Description
An exploratory walk around the cliffs of Hat Hill Creek taking in some little known passes. Beginning at Anvil Rock we follow the cliff line NW to Bennett LO then descend part way down Brownes Path into Grose Valley. There are some exposed sections. Returning to the cliff top we walk S on Bald Head Ridge then follow a track SW on a ridge leading to the end of Hat Hill Creek. There is some scrambling to reach the creek and a rope may be used. We visit the "Spa" pools where Hat Hill Creek plunges into the Grose Valley. Lew's Pass is nearby. Descent of a rope is optional. We return along Hat Hill Creek and climb out where we came in. The ridge takes us to Hat Hill where we descend to search for Aboriginal carvings and grinding grooves. Wet feet are possible on this walk.
