Description
This walk is a longer version of a walk conducted on 18 January 2020. From a parking spot on the Eastern boundary of the park we will follow the fire trail South-West, then West then North, to the Northern end of the North Spur fire trail. That will be a 6.5 km, 1.5 hour trudge along a fire trail - something I would usually avoid but which should be tolerable because the fire trails in Winburndale are such nice walking. From there we will head steeply down a rocky ridge into Middle Arm Creek, following the creek all the way down to Clear Creek. From there it will be a long climb (425 m ascent) back through the escarpment and back to the cars. This walk will be quite a lot harder than the previous one: an extra half as long and an extra half the ascent. So I am going to grade this one as a 5. It will only proceed if the forecast is for a not-too-hot day.
