- No bookings until 18 September, please. Blacks Ladder and Esgate Pass are situated in the Ngula Bulgambang Regional Park, near Katoomba. This area was previously called Radiata Plateau. The walk begins on a fire trail and descends to the cliffs above the Megalong Valley. Here we drop onto ledges via Blacks Ladder, a route used by first nation people. The ledges are easy to negotiate but there is some scrambling. There are excellent view of the Megalong Valley. At Megalong Head there are footholds and ledges to scramble up a cliff face. To assist the ascent, a chain was installed by Ben Esgate many years ago. Members must be confident in negotiating exposed ledges. The walk ends with a 2 km stroll through the forest on a fire trail.
