3 - Day Walk
NSW Women’s Week walk - Lost City (*note change of date*)
In conjunction with Bushwalking NSW, Women's Week, which is a statewide bushwalking event, I am leading this trip. This will be open to visitors as well. The Lost City walking track offers a unique and stunning outlook relatively close to Lithgow. Within the Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area, you will experience sandstone pagodas, tranquil creeks, and historic mining relics all on a well formed track. The highlights are two heritage dams that were constructed in the 1920s to supply water to Lithgow until the late 1980s and the chance to explore the distinctive pagodas up close, all with most incredible pagoda scenery that the mountains. Also we will also be on the lookout for gang gang cockatoos, scarlett robins or south-eastern glossy black cockatoos.

A day to practice skills such as: safety, movement, teamwork, communication, rope management, knots, abseiling, self belay, self rescue using prusiks and/or mechanical ascenders. This will be coving skills at the competent grade 3 level, so if you haven't been canyoning for a while it will allow you to brush up your skills and hopefully learn some new ones. In the afternoon following practice we plan to do Sleeper, a short but pretty canyon. Distance: 3km; Terrain: rough track/off track, rock scrambling, abseiling; Ascent: 200m; Wetsuits: not required

4 - Canyon
Banks canyon
Jen and I will be doing Banks canyon on Wednesday 21st January. Banks canyon is on the opposite side of Dingo Creek to hole in the wall and is a fantastic canyon. Whilst most of the walking is on track (entry and exit is via the hole the wall track) it will likely be a long day (last time we got back just after dark). Some swims in Dingo Creek

4 - Day Walk
Blue Mountain Creek waterfall
A 20 metre unnamed waterfall I checked out over 20 years ago, on a side tributary of Blue Mountain Creek, North Lawson. There will be a steep off section track from the ridge line down to the creek, and a 200m downstream to reach this waterfall.

4 - Canyon
Heart Attack Canyon (changed to Son of Zorro and Death Trap Slot)
Heart Attack Canyon is a great canyon in the lower reaches of Rocky Creek. It has one heart-stopping abseil of 50m, some deep wades but no swims. It involves exposure and rock scrambling, 480m ascent and distance around 22km, so will be a long day. Wetsuits are optional but all the usual abseiling gear is needed.
