4 - Day Walk -
Glenbrook, Jack Evans Track, No Name Ridge, Erskine Creek
The walk starts at the car park at the top of Jack Evans Track, but we will meet at Glenbrook Park entrance and drive to start. We head down the JE track to just short of Erskine Creek then turn south up to No Name Ridge. On reaching the summit we head ESE along the ridge. This offers a magnificent view of Erskine Creek on both sides of the ridge, and of the cliffs on Word Cave Hill to the north. The ridge is reasonably straightforward, but there is a little exposure. At a couple of points, we take a detour to avoid an impasse before returning to the ridge. One such detour will involve the use of a tape. We arrive at Horseshoe Pool, possibly the best swimming pool in the Blue Mountains. Hopefully, it will be warm enough for a swim. We then head back down Erskine Creek, west then north, before re-joining JE Track via a 200 m off-track short cut. Alternatively, if energy and enthusiasm levels are high, we can continue along Erskine Creek to the junction with the Nepean and Word Cave and ascend the ridge to the Nepean Lookout. Est. time 5-6 hrs, 7 km, and 400 m ascent.

4 - Creek -
Twister, Rocky Creek Canyon
Twister and Rocky Creek Canyons have jumps, down-climbs, slides, scrambles and swims, but no abseils. So, this activity is classified as a creek walk not a canyoning trip, and the grade is a walk grade not a canyon grade. Two fun canyons to do in a day. Total walk in and out of around 4km. Helmets and wetsuits are mandatory.

Ropes Practice and Empress Canyon (upper and lower)
On Friday, for those that can't so easily make weekend days I'm planning to have a ropes practice day. The idea is to go through the skills covered for grade 3 and brush up on those less used and less familiar techniques. Then later in the afternoon we will do Empress Canyon from the top. Empress is normally only done from halfway down and although the top isn't as impressive it adds an attractive and fun section that is fairly infrequently visited. As well as being for members already graded as 3 it is also appropriate for people graded as 2 and working towards 3. I have put the number of participants down as 8 but it will depend on the ratio of more experienced people, so if you are a grade 4 or 5 canyoner it would be great if you could sign up and come along and provide your knowledge. Note: If you want to review the skills defined for each level the "UBMBC Canyoning Skills Checklist" can be obtained from the Download tab on this site.

3 - Day Walk -
Dalpura Head and Creek.
The walk starts from Bells Line Of Road and is mostly on a foot pad to Dalpura Head where we will stop for a while. We then head downhill to Dalpura Creek where we make our way upstream to Dalpura Canyon which has a little waterfall flowing through the roof and is very pretty. Option for a swim at this stop. We then climb up onto some ledges above the canyon (possible lunch spot) and continue upstream before eventually branching off and going off track up the hill to join up with the track we walked in on. There will be creek walking and the deepest section would be up to your thighs. Therefore, footwear selection is important and changing clothes etc back at the cars is possible. We will meet at Mt. Victoria Station and I hope to leave there at 08:45am.

4 - Canyon -
Whungee Wheengee Canyon
This is one of the best canyons in the Wollangambe area, it is long and sustained with a very impressive deep straight crack leading out to the Wollangambe River. This canyon is quite challenging and is a longish day. The canyon section itself is long with half a dozen abseils, quite a few scrambles, a few duck unders and some nice dark sections as well as a number of swims. There is then a long swim along the Wollangambe River to the exit. The usual canyoning gear is needed as well as a waterproof head touch and some buoyancy for the swim down the Wollangambe.

4 - Creek -
Crayfish Creek
Crayfish Creek is very pretty with a short constricted canyon section and otherwise open views of cliffs. There’s a couple of hours of creek walking which is generally quite shallow (and sometimes slippery) with a couple of short sections neck deep. Wetsuits are not required but some thermals/woollens could be handy. Entry and exit has some steep off track walking as well as defined tracks. Off Ridgewell road in Blackheath.
