Description
This walk replaces my previous walk in Galong Creek. We park at Green gully and explore Galong Creek downstream. The creek has beautiful sections, or granite, pink granite and aplite. Most of the walking is on the side of the creek but there are crossings involving stepping across rocks. After climbing down next to a lovely waterfall over pink rocks we return upstream to Green Gully. Return distance 3 km. Lunch will be at Dunphy camping ground. In the afternoon we enjoy a 4km on track walk along Lyrebird ridge to Lyrebird Point for great views across the Wild Dog Mountains then return to the car park
