- Goochs Crater is a natural sandstone amphitheatre and hanging swamp located in the Gardens of Stone near Lithgow. There are numerous pagodas, cliffs and overhangs nearby, making it a spectacular location. We will approach it from the north and west and complete a circuit. The Wollangambe Fire Trail has been upgraded, and is suitable for larger 2wds and AWDs. The walk is about half off-track in open bushland, and beside a swamp, and is about 7 km / 5 hrs, 150 m total elevation gain, with some easy scrambling and exposure. We will meet opposite the Zig Zag Railway carpark. Details to be advised.
