The Hanging Rock trail at Blackheath is a 10 km return ride on a fire trail that is closed to vehicles. The ride is suitable for less experienced riders and will be at a slow pace. Some of us will walk up the steep hills. The ride ends at Baltzer LO. Here we leave our bikes and have lunch overlooking the Grose Valley. A short walk down to Hanging Rock follows. We return along fire trail to our vehicles at the locked gate on Ridgewell Road, Here there are short mountain bike trails through the bush. These are a lot of fun to explore and are an option at the end of the ride. I aim to finish early afternoon to avoid the traffic.
