- Description
- 5-6 day walk and packraft from Singleton to Barrington Tops. As some of you may know I have a project underway to bushwalk, cross country ski, canyon and paddle an adventurous route south to north up the Great Dividing Range. This is the next leg of that expedition. The plan for this leg is to travel to Singleton by train, probably on 19 July. Then on 20 July walk from Singleton to Mt Olive Community Centre, about 20km (roadside walking on a country road). Camp in the grounds of that centre. The next day walk to Lake St Clair (the NSW one) do a flat water paddle of about 7km (I have a couple of packrafts and safety gear that I am prepared to lend.) Then walk to Mt Royal National Park. From there walk to the base of the Corker in Barrington Tops National Park, about 3 days. There are a couple of big hills on tracks on this part of the walk that have gains of about 700m. The packrafting is novice level (but you must be a proficient swimmer in open water). The walking is demanding.
