- Description
Here's a walk with a difference: In 2023, some amateur satellite enthusiasts launched a home-made near-space satellite. It landed in a tree about 10m off the ground in a valley on the Western side of the Newnes escarpment. They have reason to think the satellite has now fallen to the ground and have asked for assistance to retrieve it. We will use a known pass to descend through the cliffs and see what we can find. Even though the walk will be short, it's all off-track and the descent and ascent is ~450m. The middle half is very steep. Suitable for fit, agile walkers.
