- Description
- The Barnacles is the prominent pagoda-studded outcrop that you see to the East when driving along Chifley Rd at Dargan. This walk will approach the Barnacles from the South (Bell) and then continue North, crossing December Creek and climbing onto the ridge on the North side of the creek. There we will consider our options for the return, which could include following the Wollangambe Crater foot track back to Submarine Rock and then generally South to Bell. Around 16km, total ascent around 650m, mostly off-track with some scrubby sections and possibly with moderately exposed rock scrambling. A short section of the walk is exploratory for the leader.
