From Newnes we will walk west, nearly to the end of Little Capertee Creek, then head up to a pass on the Wolgan-Capertee divide. From there we will drop into the headwaters of Canobla Creek and follow it downstream. This section, from here back to the ridge, will be exploratory for the leader. When I visited the upper sections of Canobla creek in June it was completely dry so I don't expect there will be much water in the creek, even further downstream. Some way down the creek we will turn South and follow one of the gullies back up to the ridge. From the ridge it is a steep but straightforward descent back to Little Capertee Creek and Newnes. The walk will be exploratory so, while I anticipate it will not be a hard day, walkers need to be prepared for a long day if necessary and happy to walk without many breaks.
