- Description
- Winburndale Nature Reserve, just 80 minutes drive west of Mount Victoria, has glorious open ridge walking, spectacular rocky escarpments and stunning views. At the time of writing, it has not been touched by the recent bushfires. From the western boundary of the park we will walk North-East along a ridge to the edge of the escarpment just North of Middle Arm Creek. From there we will descend into Middle Arm Creek and head North below the cliffs, then ascend Lickhole Gully back to the ridge. This walk will be ~12-14 km mostly off track. About half of the walk will be exploratory for the leaders. The walk will only proceed if the park is open and if the forecast is for not-too-hot conditions.
