Description
On Sunday 15 Nov, Guy Wittig and I will hold an abseil training session at Mt Boyce near Blackheath. The training will begin at 1.30pm.. The area has plenty of bolted anchors and is a short walk from the car park. Guy likes to call the day “fun with ropes”. You will certainly enjoy yourself. You can learn to prussik or practise your prussik skills. I will have a VT prussik for you to try. Guy wants to concentrate on self rescue and rescue skills. There will be opportunities to try out different descenders and hand ascenders, learn knots and rig anchors. We will set up releasable anchors, lowering and haul systems. You can also “do your own thing” as in past sessions. Ropes will be provided. You can bring your own ropes, extra carabiners and usual equipment. A rope protector or piece of carpet is a good idea. Some of the edges wear ropes. Members attending this training must have experience in canyoning. Please book in.
