Boars Head and Empress Falls

- Some areas of the Blue Mountains are now open following the devastating bushfires. On Tues 21 January John Murray and I will lead abseiling trips to Boars Head at Katoomba, perhaps another abseil near Boars Head 9 (depending on time) and Empress Falls at Wentworth Falls. Boars Head is dry. It has 5 abseils. Abseil 2 is reached by straddling a narrow slot which is quite exposed. We drive to Empress in the afternoon. The maximum temperature forecast for Tues is 27 degrees. A wet suit is recommended for Empress because there may be a wait in the pool before the final abseil. These trips may be changed or postponed due to park closures.
