- Description
- Mt Hay road is being closed from the middle of May through to the middle of December, so we thought we would get this classic Blue Mountains canyon in while it was still accessible. The canyon is fairly short but makes up for it by being spectacular while the views over the Grose Valley on the steep exit scramble are magnificent. The exit, although not that long is very steep with some sections that are exposed and require some tricky rock scrambling. There area number of swims and the water is getting quite cool, so good wetsuits are needed. The round trip is about 5 km, there are up to 9 abseils, the longest is 20 m and the ascent out is around 250m.
