Description
This historic walking track circuit follows one of the original 'roads' used to descend into Hartley Vale. Hand built by convicts, remnants of their handiwork can still be seen all along the track. The track has beautiful views over the Hartley Valley and some nice pagoda formations. We will start from the Historic Wells on Mount York Road and then decent down Cox's road to the start of Lockyer's Road trail. From there we head up Lockyer's Road with a quick side trip to look for a historic mine along the way. This is a easy - medium half days walk including lunch. A few steeper uphill sections, and a quick off track scramble to look for the mine, but most of it on a clearly defined track.
