Blacks Ladder / Esgate Pass has been a long time favourite walk for UBMBC. In 2014 Chris Sterling and I extended the walk by commencing near the "Three Brothers" at Medlow Bath. Since then Chris has led the walk many times for our club. It involves traversing ledges above the Megalong Valley all the way to Radiata Plateau where we ascend Esgate Chains. There are some exposed sections and chains for a vertical ascent. We visit a delightful grotto on the way. It's a very full day so I have graded it 5. Experienced walkers only.
