More Slots North of Rail Motor Ridge

- Description
- Mick, Geoff and I are exploring a slot that was found on my previous trip. Park cars at Deep Pass South, climb up to Mount Norris and along Rail Motor Ridge till around GR 5042 0682. Head north on a long ridge to around GR 5073 0786 where we will abseil a slot tending west. Then head up a tree fern lined slot before abseiling off Mount Norris to the exit track. It involves exposure and rock scrambling, abseils up to 45m, distance around 6 km, mainly off track. The usual abseiling gear is needed. Partly exploratory for the leader.
