- This is a replacement walk for Rock Island which has been postponed due to NPWS road closures. The walk begins at Mt Hay car park and follows a walking track to over Mt Hay to Venus Tor. From here it is off track walking to Boorong Crags. There are great views of the Grose Valley along the way. There is a steep descent to the cliffs above the Grose. Here is the exposed lookout that features on the cover of Andy McQueen's book, " Back from the Brink". We retrace our route back to the Mt Hay car park. total distance is around 8 km with some steep off track climbing.
