Newnes State Forest The Cosmic Cave

- The walk begins on Fire trail 4 off Sunnyside Ridge Road. There is a steep descent into Wild Gorge. A rope will be used if needed. We visit the Dome Cave, and PInch Point. as we pick our way through thick bush and ferns. Climbing Split Rock provides great views of the cliffs ahead. A challenging creek crossing takes us N into Carne Creek to Cosmic Cave, one of the largest caves in the area, which is reached by an exposed ledge. We climb out to Splir Rock Point for excellent views then return through thick bush to the vehicles.
