- Description
- On Friday, for those that can't so easily make weekend days I'm planning to have a ropes practice day. The idea is to go through the skills covered for grade 3 and brush up on those less used and less familiar techniques. Then later in the afternoon we will do Empress Canyon from the top. Empress is normally only done from halfway down and although the top isn't as impressive it adds an attractive and fun section that is fairly infrequently visited.
As well as being for members already graded as 3 it is also appropriate for people graded as 2 and working towards 3.
I have put the number of participants down as 8 but it will depend on the ratio of more experienced people, so if you are a grade 4 or 5 canyoner it would be great if you could sign up and come along and provide your knowledge.
Note: If you want to review the skills defined for each level the "UBMBC Canyoning Skills Checklist" can be obtained from the Download tab on this site.
