Description
Zorro and Pleasant View overlook Carne Creek on the Newnes Plateau. Zorro is a very short "Z: shaped canyon on a fire trail off Waratah Ridge. There is a short walk in and out for 3 or 4 easy abseils. A knee deep pool can't be avoided but you change soon after it and are dry for the rest of the day. The exit is via a beautiful rainforest gully. Lunch is at the vehicles. We descend the other side of the ridge to Pleasant View canyon. There are no abseils. This is a really enjoyable canyon with a great view across Carne Creek and slots to explore. This is an excellent day for new canyoners.
