Description
Fun with Ropes is a great opportunity to extend your abseiling skills. The venue is Yellow Rock Reserve at Winmalee. The day will be led by Guy Wittig and myself. Much of the learning is from each other with experienced canyoners on hand to demonstrate and help. Beginners can learn to prussik and self-rescue. Skills covered could be knots, prussiking, tie offs, abseiling on a Munter hitch, self-rescue, haul systems, top belay, releasable anchors and fiddlesticks. You will be able to try some different descenders and a VT prussik. Hand ascenders will be available for you to climb ropes. Guy will demonstrate rescue by hauling people up a vertical cliff face. We will have fun with ropes. There will be ropes and anchors set up for you. You can ,”do your own thing” with your own ropes if you prefer. Just drop in at any time to abseil or prussik. This day is for experienced canyoners or members who have completed the club training program. Please book in.
