Description
Serendipity Canyon, also known as Why Don't We Do It in The Road Canyon, is a relatively short canyon on the south side of the Wollangambe. Starting from the Fire Station at Mt Wilson a fairly short walk takes us to the canyon. The canyon has 6 abseils up to 20m. Most abseils are fairly straight forward, but at least one has an awkward start. With a bit of flow from recent rains we can expect to get wet in the waterfalls and swims. There is a pleasant creek walk for 45mins in the middle section of the canyon. The canyon finishes at the Wollangambe, and depending on the flow we wade upstream for 100m to the exit track, or we avoid the Wollangambe by climbing along ledges. This canyon is suitable for beginners, but you must be able to swim and be comfortable abseiling in the waterfall.
