This is very short notice but the weather since Christmas has been fairly wet and finding a good day for a canyon has been tricky. Currently Friday is looking good and hopefully the weather gods will be good to us!
This is a fun canyon and has a long and impressive constriction that in places is very dark - you should see a few glowworms. It also has a couple of good abseils including the last one down into the final long constriction. Despite the canyon's alternative name of Kelvinator, the swims are fairly short. However, there is a longish swim (500m) down the Wollangambe after exiting Water Dragon to get back to the entry/exit track.
The total walk is about 8km with around 500m elevation gain. There are 4 abseils of up to 15m. The total trip time should be around 8 hours.
